How do you manage hygiene in the bathing areas?

To ensure that our onsen baths are safe to use, we manage hygiene in bathing areas in compliance with the methods and cleaning frequency stipulated by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare and the Public Health Center.

■Facilities

  • Circulating bathtubs (Water is completely changed at least once a week on a regular basis, and the bathtubs are disinfected and cleaned.)
  • Filtration equipment
  • Chlorine injectors

■Frequency

  • Bathing area cleaning: Daily
  • Draining and cleaning: Once a week
  • Chlorine disinfection: Each time the tubs are drained and cleaned (constant disinfection by chlorine injector to maintain the proper chlorine concentration)
  • Residual chlorine concentration measurements: Daily (adjusted to between 0.4 mg /L and 1.0 mg /L or less for at least two hours per day)
Do you accept credit cards?

Yes, we do.
We accept Diners, Amex, VISA, MasterCard, JCB, UC, DC, and Saison.

What should I do if I am going to arrive late?

Please contact us by phone if you will be arriving much later than 5:00 p.m.

Can I get picked up from Kamisuwa Station?

We operate a free shuttle bus from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Please call us when you arrive at Kamisuwa Station and we will pick you up.

Do I need to make a reservation to use the free Suwa Taisha Shrine visitation bus?

Yes, advance reservations are required. Please click here for details.

I will arrive at the hotel before 3:00 p.m. Can I leave my luggage for safekeeping?

Yes, we can help you at the front desk. You can also leave your luggage at the front desk for safekeeping if you wish to go sightseeing around the hotel after check-out, so please feel free to ask.

Can I send my luggage to the hotel ahead of time?

Yes, that is possible.
Please call us at 0266-54-2020 or email us at info@kamisuwa-shinyu.com to let us know before sending your luggage.

Can I check-out at a later time than usual?

In principle, check-out is at 10:00 a.m., but for a fee, you may occupy the room up to 12:00 p.m. at the latest. Please make your request at the time of check-in.

Room charge: ¥3,300 until 11:00; ¥5,500 until 12:00
(The fee may vary depending on the room type.)

Is there a cancellation fee?

Cancellation fees begin to apply from seven days prior to the date of your stay.
(7 to 4 days prior: 20%; 3 to 2 days prior: 30%; 1 day prior: 50%; same day: 100%)

Do you have non-smoking rooms?

There is no need to worry. All rooms at the hotel are non-smoking.
(Smokers may use the smoking area on the 2nd floor.)

Is there Internet access?

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.
Please note that no computers are provided.

I will be staying with my child. Do you have a children’s meal menu?

Yes, we do.
We have two types: one for toddlers and one for early elementary school children.

What is the maximum age that children can enter the opposite gender’s bath?

The age limit for entering the public baths and changing rooms of the opposite gender is seven years old.

※From October 1, 2024, in public bathhouses within Nagano Prefecture, mixed bathing with children of the opposite sex will be permitted only for children up to 6 years old. We appreciate your understanding.

I have food allergies. Can you accommodate me?

At Kamisuwa Onsen Shinyu, we are able to remove the following six allergens: eggs, milk, shrimp, crab, peanuts, and buckwheat. If you wish to have allergens removed, please contact us by phone (0266-54-2020) or email (info@kamisuwa-shinyu.com) at least one week prior to your stay.

*We do not guarantee the complete removal of allergens from our food, as dishes are prepared in the same kitchen as those containing allergens. If you need assurance that your food contains no allergens whatsoever, please refrain from dining at the hotel for your own safety.

*If you are unable to dine at the hotel due to allergies or other reasons, you may bring in your own food. In such case, please contact us in advance.

Can I have a cake or bouquet prepared?

Please contact us at least one day in advance to give us time to prepare.
(Cake: from ¥2,600 / Bouquet (or flower arrangement): from ¥5,500)
Please feel free to consult with us about the appearance or display.

I would like to bring my pet. Can it stay with me?

Please understand that, although we previously accepted such reservation, as of July 1, 2017, we are no longer able to accommodate pets.

Is there a convenience store nearby?

There is a 24-hour Lawson convenience store about 5 minutes away on foot.

Is there anything in the refrigerator?

The refrigerator is empty. Feel free to use it.
Soft drinks, beer, and other beverages are available at the 1st floor kiosk and the vending machine areas on the 2nd and 3rd floors.

Do you rent out bicycles?

Yes, you can rent bicycles for 500 yen for 2 hours. Please ask at the front desk. (The number of bicycles is limited.)
